5 years ago I joined university,
I was elated, ’twas time to see the city,
As a shagz girl, this was a time for me to break free,
Find a niche for myself and be all I can be.
The enthusiasm didn’t last long, sad to say,
I didn’t know that this was a hard game to play,
Too many temptations, too many tryna lead you astray,
Few real friends to make, many fakes willing to stay.
Falling by the way side was easy, that’s no doubt,
Many were lured into the fast life, wanted to know what it was about,
As their social lives harvested bounties, education was facing drought,
The fast money and hyped nightlife made education a choice they could live without.
Friday nights were the worst, I never had plot,
Meanwhile, Bimmers and Mercs couldn’t find space in the parking lot,
Ladies looking glamorous, wearing designer…
